Saint Thomas’ Day –
We celebrate this Patronal Festival each year on a Sunday close to July 3rd. Following a late morning Eucharist, one of the few occasions we have the pleasure of the organ, we all adjourn to the St. James Hotel to enjoy a meal together.
We welcome parishioners from St. Cuthbert’s, neighbouring churches, family, friends and neighbours.
It is always a great day.
St. Thomas’s Patronal Festival 2014
In May 2014, the Annual Golf and Card Day was held for the 25th year.
Players may choose to play either 18 holes or 9 holes. There is a break in play for home-made soup and sandwiches. For those who play nine holes, or who do not play golf at all, there is time for a game of cards, a social chat by the warm fire. When all the golfers have finished, everyone enjoys a delicious country-style afternoon tea.
Prizes are awarded and a multi-prize raffle is drawn.
Our guests also enjoy purchasing fresh produce and home-made cakes from the trading table.
